My First Graphic Design Project

This is the first project I ever made using Illustrator in my High School's "Intro to Graphic Design Class" (which involved dumping 10 kids in a windowless room in front of Macs while the teacher sat in another classroom, texting. My only guidance was the high Russian foreign exchange student in the back of class who gave help in exchange for snacks from the vending machines. Everyone has to start somewhere.) It's a menu for a fictitious, high class cafe named Ganache. Every now and then, when I feel like a failure, I whip this bad boy out to remind myself that my work could be so, so much worse. This thing was so bad it didn't even make it into my High School portfolio Junior year.

To anyone with low design self-esteem: I hope this lifts your confidence and hope. I know it's done the same for me.
